Pre-Conference (September 4th, 2023) - 9:00am to 12:00pm
Building portable and reliable microservices with the Dapr Framework and Azure
Managing the complexities of distributed systems can be a daunting task for even the most experienced software engineers. This workshop aims to equip software engineers with the knowledge and skills to build portable and reliable microservices using the Distributed Application Runtime (Dapr) framework.
Dapr is an open-source runtime that simplifies the development of microservices by providing a set of building blocks for common distributed systems capabilities. With Dapr, engineers can focus on writing business logic without worrying about the underlying infrastructure. In this hands-on workshop, participants will dive deep into the core concepts and practical techniques for leveraging Dapr to create robust and scalable microservices architectures.
During the workshop, participants will learn: - Introduction to Dapr: Explore the fundamental concepts and architecture of the Dapr framework, understanding how it enables developers to build portable and reliable microservices. - Gain hands on experience with Dapr's building blocks, such as Service Invocation, State Management, Pub/Sub, Bindings and more - Learn how to deploy Dapr applications to Azure Kubernetes Service and Azure Container Apps
Throughout the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to apply their newfound knowledge in hands-on exercises and coding examples. By the end of the session, attendees will be equipped with the practical skills to architect, develop, and deploy portable and reliable microservices using the Dapr framework.
