Develop Today, Deploy Tomorrow: An Interoperability Spec for AI Models
TalkPackaging solves distribution. It doesn’t solve interoperability. While OCI artifacts and projects like ModelPack provide a foundation for packaging AI models, moving those models from a developer laptop into production Kubernetes environments still requires stitching together metadata, trust, provenance, and deployment workflows. In this session, we’ll demonstrate how the CNCF Developer Experience TAG is building a lightweight interoperability profile that complements existing standards rather than replacing them. By walking through each component in detail and illustrating the concepts in a live demo, we’ll package, sign, publish, validate, and deploy an AI model from local development to Kubernetes inference using today’s cloud native tooling. Audience members will leave with a practical blueprint for cloud native AI delivery and a better understanding of how OCI, GitOps, Sigstore, Model Openness Framework, and emerging interoperability standards fit together.
