Most of us have copied pod logs, events or YAML into ChatGPT or Claude at some point, hoping to get to the root cause faster. It works, but it also means constantly switching tools, providing context, and potentially exposing information that should never leave the cluster. In this lightning talk, I’ll show how to bring an AI-powered Kubernetes agent into the cluster with kagent. Whether using a local model with Ollama or a hosted model like ChatGPT or Claude, kagent investigates issues using the cluster’s own context instead of relying on endless copy-pasting. We’ll also look at Human-in-the-Loop and Agent-to-Agent - two concepts that make AI useful without giving up control - and introduce Khook, which can automatically trigger AI investigations when something goes wrong in the cluster. Along the way, we’ll discuss where these approaches shine, where they don’t, and how they can help platform teams spend less time troubleshooting and more time delivering software.
