So... which stack?
TalkChoosing a technology stack for interactive AI apps, in the age of coding agents. You're starting a greenfield project in 2026: an interactive AI application with live UI updates, background workers, and agents talking to LLM providers. Your team is polyglot, and a coding agent writes most of the code — so which technology stack do you actually pick? This talk tours the major ecosystems — Symfony, Laravel, Phoenix, Django, .NET, Go, Node.js, and Java — through three maturity lenses: AI/agentic support, background workers, and interactive UI. Spoiler: every ecosystem has a weak leg, and there is no perfect-score stack. Then we get to the real point: the deciding factor has shifted. Before coding agents, team expertise picked the winner — you went with what you knew. Now that agents write the code and reading fluency is trainable, the question is no longer "how well can we write this?" but "how well can we run this?" — hosting support, laptop-friendliness, and operating cost become the tiebreakers. And since switching stacks is cheaper than ever, your platform choices shouldn't be the thing that locks you in.
