The Easiest Path Wins: Earning Platform Adoption with DDD and Product Thinking

Talk

Internal platforms rarely fail on technology. They fail because nobody wanted them: golden paths no one walks, tools made mandatory instead of good, dashboards counting onboarded seats, not real usage. A mandated platform gets routed around. A good one gets adopted because it's the easiest path. The shift that changes everything: your developers are customers you must win, not captives you can assign. Drawing on years building and leading platforms, internal and external, we share an intrapreneur's playbook. Validate demand before you build. Use Domain-Driven Design to align on the real workflow, not the org chart. Use Design Thinking and product management to right-size what you ship, from PoC to MVP to product. Then make it stick with Kubernetes foundations, API-first design, and WebAssembly extensibility so users build on top of it. You'll walk away with concrete frameworks and methodologies to build the platform people want, and the warning signs that you're going the wrong direction.
