About
Raymond de Jong is Field CTO for EMEA at Isovalent, the originators of the Cilium project, providing networking, observability, and security for cloud-native applications using eBPF. In this role, he is supporting and enabling customers and partners to be successful with Cilium in their mission-critical environments. Leveraging almost a decade of experience in Software Defined Networking he is passionate about learning customer use-cases and designing solutions to meet their requirements. When not working, Raymond enjoys playing tennis, riding bikes, gaming, and music playing the guitar or piano.

AI Goes Off Script: eBPF Guardrails for Kubernetes
TalkAI workloads may be unpredictable at the application layer, but their effects on infrastructure are observable. Every training job, inference service, and agent ultimately interacts with networks, APIs, processes, and files. This session explores how open-source eBPF technologies can turn those signals into practical guardrails for AI workloads on Kubernetes. Through a live demonstration, we show how platform and security teams can move from reactive troubleshooting to a repeatable workflow of observing, constraining, detecting, and validating workload behavior. The outcomes include more trustworthy connectivity, reduced exposure of inference services, earlier detection of unexpected model or data access, and Kubernetes-aware evidence for investigating failures and security events. More importantly, these controls provide a common operating model across conventional microservices and emerging AI workloads. Teams can apply familiar cloud-native identity, policy, and observability practices as AI infrastructure expands across clusters and environments. Attendees will leave with a practical architecture based on Cilium, Hubble, and Tetragon, together with an honest understanding of its boundaries.
